Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Formal requirements for submissions to Apuntes Universitarios

  1. The articles and reviews that are sent to the journal must be presented in Spanish, must be unpublished and not approved for publication in any other entity. They will be sent through the journal’s platform (http://apuntesuniversitarios.upeu.edu.pe/index.php/revapuntes/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions). Any data that could identify the authors must be removed from the document. The authors’ information will be given on the page in the platform enabled for this purpose. Submissions will be reviewed using the PlagScan Anti-Plagiarism Detection Tool. All articles in which plagiarism or self-plagiarism are detected will be immediately rejected.
  2. Submissions will have a maximum length of 12,000 words, including bibliographical references and footnotes. They will be presented in Times New Roman format 12pt with 1.5 line spacing. The page should be configured with 2.5 cm margins on every side (lateral and vertical). In the first page, in addition to the title in Spanish and English, a summary in Spanish that will not exceed 200 words and another in English (also known as an abstract), as well as 3-5 key descriptive words or phrases for the article, likewise in both languages.
  3. Priority will be given to articles that provide research results following the IMRaD format: introduction, methods, results and discussion.
  4. No space should be left inside the text for the location of tables and figures. Simply incorporate an appropriate reference (eg: Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). All tables and figures will be numbered at the end of the document.
  5. Citations and the bibliography must conform to the rules of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition. The DOI must also be included for all bibliographical references that have one.
  6. All submissions received, after analysis by the Editorial Board, will be submitted to a peer review process. This evaluation will be done through the "double-blind" system in order to guarantee full anonymity and there will be at least two reviewers for each submission.
  7. The original documents that do not pass this stage of the process will be returned to the author to make the necessary modifications.
  8. Before final publication, proofs will be sent to the author for correction. Authors must correct these proofs within a period of no more than ten days. No significant variations or additions to the text will be allowed during the proofreading process.
  9. The publication of articles in Apuntes Universitarios does not entitle the authors to any remuneration.
  10. The Editors and Administrators of Apuntes Universitarios are not responsible for the ideas and opinions expressed in the journal‘s articles by their authors.
  11. For the maintenance of the journal, authors will be asked to contribute $100 per article publication, once it has been accepted (no fees and taxes for transfers).

Reviews: Book reviews are accepted in any of the Apuntes Universitarios main languages (Spanish, English or Portuguese) so long as they do not exceed 1000 words. These contributions will be evaluated by members of the editorial board of Apuntes Universitarios
